Master of Photography attained

In September I attained my Master of Photography with the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography.

It really is fantastic to have the quality of my work recognised in this way by my peers.

Kodak Gold Awards

I'm happy to announce that I have won two silver merits at the Kodak Gold Awards this year.

It's always a great feeling to have the quality and creativity of my work rewarded. Thanks go to Kate and Taya, the gorgeous subjects in these two images.

Iris Awards

Lisa and I spent a crazy, fun, photography filled week in Wellington recently. We went there for the annual NZIPP conference and Iris awards in which Lisa won three bronze awards.

The Aussies love 'em too

The APPAs - Australian Professional Photography Awards - have just been held and my four entries were awarded with two silvers and two silvers with distinction.

I'm thrilled to have the quality and creativity of my photography recognised across the Tasman!

A big thanks to Mike Thornton of Giclee Print, who did the printing. He does a wonderful job of printing beautiful fine art photographic prints.

All four images will be published in the Australian Professional Photography Awards 2009 book.

Megan wins Overall Champion Digital Image

I'm a member of the Auckland Photographic Society and we had our end of year competition and prize giving recently. All six of my entries got "honours" (the top ranking) and I was stoked to win three trophies including the Overall Champion Digital Image of 2008. Now I just need to find a shelf out of the kids' reach!

This is the winning image - definitely one of my favourites this year.

ImageMe Wedding Album wins Kodak Award

Megan and I photographed Michelle and Pete's elegant wedding at the Alberton back in March. Their wedding album has won a silver award at the recent Kodak Gold awards.

Lisa wins 'People Photographer of the Year 2008'

I spent an exciting and stimulating five days in Tauranga for the biggest event in NZ professional photographers' calendars - the three-day Iris Awards followed by the two-day Infocus Conference, all run by the NZIPP (New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography). I was absolutely thrilled to win five silver awards and three bronze awards, and then be named 'People Photographer of the Year'.
