Bacarella Family

I had a fab time photographing the Bacarella Family at Takapuna Beach this morning.

Energetic kiddies Talor and Layla had a blast getting wet and sandy, and then getting Mum Shelley and Dad Jon messy too!

Sarah wanted a creative portrait session with a 'nature' theme so we headed to the bush and the beach yesterday.

Family Fun

I had a lovely time photographing the extended Douglas Family recently.

One branch of the family lives in the UK so the family made the most of a trip to NZ to get some family photos taken - including some silly ones.

We had a lovely autumn afternoon, and the bush and grass made a great backdop.

Black Family Portrait Session

Derek and Faye Black have four children and four sweet grand daughters. When everyone was in town recently we headed to the reserve up the road for some big group portraits.

The four year old cousins had a lot of fun together, you can see that they're lovely friends.

Three spots left in April Photography Workshops

Are you a keen photographer with a thirst to learn more? There is one spot left on our workshop 'Mastering Light' this Sunday (April 11), and two spots left on 'Getting Comfortable in Manual' the following Saturday (April 17).

Here is some feedback from previous workshops:

'Superb, well structured, informative and practical. Relaxed yet intensive - great teacher!'

'Fantastic course! Really enjoyed Lisa's style and teaching. All subject matter was useful and explained in an easy to understand way.'

'Not only is Lisa an exceptionally gifted photographer, but she is a very nice person who doesn't make one feel inadequate or inferior.'

Please phone me on (09) 488 9270 or email lisa@imageme.co.nz to find out more.

Stana and Danyela

We had a lovely warm autumn afternoon at the beach for Stana and Danyela's fun portrait session.

We finished off the session with a studio shoot, and Danyela showed off her jumping ability.

Papua New Guinea

I recently spent a week in Alotau, Papua New Guinea, photographing the work of The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ.

ImageMe is an official partner of the Foundation, and I jumped at the chance to photograph their PNG programme.

The Foundation was holding an outreach clinic in Alotau, and Papua New Guineans travelled from remote areas throughout the Milne Bay region to get help for their eye problems. For many, cataracts were removed, allowing them to regain their sight, and improve their lives and their family's lives.

As part of the work I photographed several sugeries - a new experience for me!

It was so moving to meet some of these people, to hear their personal stories, and to photograph the moment when the bandage was removed and their joy erupted.

The photos I took will be used to show Kiwis the amazing work the Foundation does, to help in their appeals. It really is a thrill to use my photographic skills to make a real difference.

The photos I took for the Foundation are under wraps for now, but here are a few snapshots of me in PNG.

Here I am with PNG eye nurses Getruth, Rosemary and Kesley. They were an absolute pleasure to work with!

This is me with one of the patients whose story we documented.
